We Forgotten The Unfortunate Already?

I did an earlier post of the Jay-Z featuring Neo's "Minority Report" and I had to give a refresher, "not wanted to but had to". It's each and everyone's calling to help our brethren in need no matter what predjudice is imbedded in our minds, the selfishness that we all hold to heart should not be the reason to turn a blind eye to those who are crying.... scream for our help.

The messed up part is.... we are watching it, it's right here in front of us and all we are doing is sitting here talking about " oh that is soooo sad. It's sad that each of us can't even donate $1 to help and there are millions of people in these United States.

I'm going to use "United States" loosely becuase we are not united in the slightest if we can just watch childern, people die in such a horrible way, all over the world, with all the millionaires we have here in these "United States".

Needless to say... just because it's not on the news anymore doesn't mean the problem does not exist.

World Exclusive: Anna Nicole Smith Died With Toxic Level Of Sleeping Medication In Her System

Anna Nicole Smith died with a toxic level of the sleeping medication chloral hydrate in her system.

In a joint newsgathering operation, the National ENQUIRER and Star magazine have solved the mystery of the former Playboy model's death and provide a detailed portrait of her final days.

The world exclusive details come days before Broward County, Fla., Chief Medical Examiner Joshua Perper will hold a press conference to announce the former Playboy Playmate's cause of death.

The ENQUIRER and Star have also learned that Anna Nicole had a raging blood infection. The infection was caused by an unsterilized needle and contributed to her death.

The infection was so serious, it would have killed her if she had not overdosed.

Contrary to speculation, tests show Anna Nicole did not have methadone or any other painkilling drug in her system at the time of her death.

The ENQUIRER learned that just before she left the Bahamas for Florida on February 5, three days before she died, Anna Nicole received an injection in her left buttock.

Tests did not reveal what that substance was.

"As she boarded the plane for Miami, Anna Nicole developed a painful abscess at the site of the injection," said a source with knowledge of the case. "The needle wasn't sterile. The pain kept getting worse as the abscess got larger and larger very quickly."

From Miami, Anna Nicole and her live-in lawyer Howard K. Stern traveled to Hollywood, Fla. The pain from the abscess became excruciating and Anna Nicole developed a high fever.

By the time she got to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino her fever was 105.

Anna Nicole, unaware that her blood was being poisoned by infection, had also developed a second infection from a virulent form of norovirus, which causes intestinal problems.

It was at this point that Anna Nicole — and her entourage — made a fatal mistake. She refused to go to a hospital, a decision that would have saved her life.

Instead, Anna's people gave her an ice bath to control the fever, administered the antibiotic ciprofloxacin by mouth and gave her an over-the-counter flu medicine.

As the needle-caused infection took over her body, she began vomiting, had severe diarrhea and could not urinate.

On February 6, a Tuesday, Anna spent the whole day in bed. She could not keep fluids down. She was becoming severely dehydrated.

On Wednesday, February 7, Anna seemed somewhat better, but she wasn't, the source said.

"She was still vomiting and suffering diarrhea," said the source. "Again, she spent the whole day in bed, as the abscess continued to grow. She was in such pain, she just wanted to sleep."

And that's when the final fatal mistake was made. Sometime overnight on February 7, Anna ingested the sleeping medication chloral hydrate. The drug is extremely potent. The dose was too much — and in fact it was a toxic level, the ENQUIRER and Star have learned exclusively. On Thursday, February 8, Anna never woke up.

A nurse found her unresponsive at about 1:30 p.m.

At 2:49 p.m., Anna Nicole Smith was pronounced dead.

Preliminary analysis indicated the cause of death was systemic sepsis syndrome, a lethal blood infection. It was caused by the abscess of the left buttock. Further investigation revealed the fatal level of chloral hydrate.

Chloral hydrate can cause depression of respiration, especially in a person who is already sick because of an infection and dehydration and it can cause death within a relatively short period of time.

Anna Nicole also had scarring from numerous injections she got in the buttocks.

Now This Is A Groove.....

Not since 'The Miseducation...' has there been such a seamless bridge of hiphop and urban soul; but in a world where musical comparisons are unavoidable if not inevitable, Coco Jones is out to carve her own niche in the minds of connoisseurs and casual listeners alike. While heavily influenced by the soul of the 70s, the 24 year-old Ms. Jones should not be taken lightly as a lyricist as she brings a passion in her vocals rivaled only by her skill on the mic. Her debut album, "SuperSoulSista" features a collection of soulful ballads, as well as fire-breathing hiphop classics, entirely produced by up and coming producer Roahn Hylton of FirstBorn Productions. Coco Jones' passion and versatility will surely evoke comparisons, but this young lady is in a league of her own.

This one is for all of you have a Kelvin "a degree of the sun" degree burning so hard, so out of control, you can't help but to feel this song via the play button below.

The History of St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick is believed to have driven the snakes from Ireland. Once a pagan himself, St. Patrick is one of Christianity's most widely known figures.

The modern secular holiday is based on the original Christian saint's feast day also thought to be the date of the saint's death. In 1737, Irish immigrants to the United States began observing the holiday publicly in Boston and held the first St. Patrick's Day Parade in New York City in 1766.

Today, the tradition continues with people from all walks and heritages by wearing green, eating Irish food, and attending parades. St. Patrick's Day is bursting with folklore; from the shamrock to the leprechaun and to pinching those that are not wearing green.

St. Patrick's Day is celebrated on March 17, his religious feast day and the anniversary of his death in the fifth century. The Irish have observed this day as a religious holiday for thousands of years.

On St. Patrick's Day, which falls during the Christian season of Lent, Irish families would traditionally attend church in the morning and celebrate in the afternoon. Lenten prohibitions against the consumption of meat were waived and people would dance, drink, and feast—on the traditional meal of Irish bacon and cabbage.

The first St. Patrick's Day parade took place not in Ireland, but in the United States. Irish soldiers serving in the English military marched through New York City on March 17, 1762. Along with their music, the parade helped the soldiers to reconnect with their Irish roots, as well as fellow Irishmen serving in the English army.

Over the next thirty-five years, Irish patriotism among American immigrants flourished, prompting the rise of so-called "Irish Aid" societies, like the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick and the Hibernian Society. Each group would hold annual parades featuring bagpipes (which actually first became popular in the Scottish and British armies) and drums.

Up until the mid-nineteenth century, most Irish immigrants in America were members of the Protestant middle class. When the Great Potato Famine hit Ireland in 1845, close to a million poor, uneducated, Catholic Irish began to pour into America to escape starvation. Despised for their religious beliefs and funny accents by the American Protestant majority, the immigrants had trouble finding even menial jobs. When Irish Americans in the country's cities took to the streets on St. Patrick's Day to celebrate their heritage, newspapers portrayed them in cartoons as drunk, violent monkeys.

However, the Irish soon began to realize that their great numbers endowed them with a political power that had yet to be exploited. They started to organize, and their voting block, known as the "green machine," became an important swing vote for political hopefuls. Suddenly, annual St. Patrick's Day parades became a show of strength for Irish Americans, as well as a must-attend event for a slew of political candidates. In 1948, President Truman attended New York City 's St. Patrick's Day parade, a proud moment for the many Irish whose ancestors had to fight stereotypes and racial prejudice to find acceptance in America.

Today, St. Patrick's Day is celebrated by people of all backgrounds in the United States, Canada, and Australia. Although North America is home to the largest productions, St. Patrick's Day has been celebrated in other locations far from Ireland, including Japan, Singapore, and Russia.

In modern-day Ireland, St. Patrick's Day has traditionally been a religious occasion. In fact, up until the 1970s, Irish laws mandated that pubs be closed on March 17. Beginning in 1995, however, the Irish government began a national campaign to use St. Patrick's Day as an opportunity to drive tourism and showcase Ireland to the rest of the world. Last year, close to one million people took part in Ireland 's St. Patrick's Festival in Dublin, a multi-day celebration featuring parades, concerts, outdoor theater productions, and fireworks shows.

Jude Law and Lindsay Lohan... What?!

Words we sincerely hope Jude Law's three kids will never have to hear: "Meet Lindsay Lohan, your future stepmom." The New York Post claims the rehabbed but still continuously club-hopping starlet got to know the Sienna-less, nanny-susceptible actor a little bit better last weekend while making the scene in Manhattan.

Lohan, 20, supposedly called Law, 34, at 1 a.m. Saturday and rendezvoused with him at the unfortunately named New York nightspot The Box.

They apparently hit it off, because the next night the age-disproportionate new pals met up again at The Box (oy). There, says the paper, they hung out with Jude's buddies Sean Penn and Tim Robbins, who at 46 and 48, respectively, must have filled LiLo's father-figure quota for the month (in related news, her estranged pop was sprung from the pokey this week).

"They are adoring one another's company," a mole (no doubt breathlessly) informs the paper, but demurs when asked whether they might be "dating."

Lindsay's spokeswoman is mum on the reports, although she does confirm to Star that the puffy lipped actress, who may or may not have clipped a paparazzo with her BMW while leaving hot spot Butter on Tuesday, has purchased two puppies (PETA, take note).

As for Law, who has been in Tokyo this week promoting "The Holiday," his mouthpiece doesn't comment on his personal life.

3 Police Indicted in N.Y. Groom Shooting

A grand jury Friday indicted at least three of the five police officers whose 50-shot barrage killed an unarmed man on his wedding day, lawyers for the officers said.

Attorneys for officers Marc Cooper, Gerscard Isnora and Michael Oliver said their clients had been indicted, but they did not know what offenses the officers had been charged with.

The three officers fired the most shots — Cooper, 4, Isnora, 11, and Oliver, 31 — in the confrontation that killed 23-year-old Sean Bell and wounded two of his friends.

Isnora, 28, was “very upset,” attorney Philip Karasyk said. “But he is confident that once he has his day in court he will be vindicated.”

A person familiar with the case told the AP that the other two officers in the shooting were not charged. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the grand jury's decision has not been made public.

The Rev. Al Sharpton said the charges marked an important first step in the fight for justice in the case.

"Since Nov. 25th, we have battled together. Today is a major step in that battle, whether it will be a step forward, time will tell. But one thing that we can say, if you stay together and you fight, you can do what is necessary to protect children," Sharpton said at a news conference.

Anticipation has been running high around New York City about the grand jury's decision. Extra police officers were put on standby and the mayor met with black leaders in the Queens neighborhood where shooting occurred in hopes of defusing any tensions that might arise from the decision.

A 23-person grand jury heard the case, and 12 grand jurors needed to vote for an indictment for charges to be brought. The panel includes eight blacks, seven whites, and a mix of Hispanics and Asians.

"Whatever the grand jury says ... I think you will see the people of this city behaving in an exemplary manner," Mayor Michael Bloomberg said earlier Friday. "They can be disappointed, they can express themselves — that's freedom of speech, I don't have a problem with that. But nobody is going to go out and make our streets unsafe."

Last-minute witness
The secret grand jury proceedings took a strange twist when a last-minute witness emerged and testified Thursday before the grand jury that is deciding whether to charge the five officers in the deadly shooting of Bell on his wedding day. Two of his friends were wounded.

The shooting that killed Bell stirred outrage around New York City and led to accusations of racism against the NYPD. Bell was black, as are two of his friends who were wounded in the shooting. Two of the officers are white, and three are black.

Peter St. George Davis, who represents the parents of Bell, said the last-minute witness has no credibility, has been known to investigators from the very beginning, and that investigators actually spoke to him months ago.

"This is not an 11th-hour situation in terms of a mystery witness like you would see on a 'Law and Order' episode," the lawyer said. "This witness was known to the NYPD."

"We believe this grand jury can give us justice," he added. "We would say that justice requires an indictment and prosecution."

While the credibility of the witness is not known, his testimony could aid the officers if he helps convince grand jurors that the officers were justified in opening fire.

Witness said to be working nearby
Detectives' Endowment Association President Michael Palladino said the witness was a 55-year-old man who went to a police station on Wednesday to say he had been working on the night of the shooting near the strip club where it occurred.

The witness told detectives he saw a man fire one or two shots at a police officer and then flee into a nearby building. The man also told detectives that he heard officers identifying themselves as police, said Palladino, who had been briefed on the situation by detectives.

"I don't know where this man came from," Palladino said. "But this guy could have a vital piece of information. ... The man told detectives that he didn't come forward sooner because he was afraid and overwhelmed."

Union representatives and lawyers for the officers have said their clients, who were conducting an undercover investigation at the strip club, became convinced Bell and his friends were going to retrieve a gun from a car parked after overhearing them argue with another patron. No gun was found.

Grand jurors had been instructed to consider several charges: second-degree murder, manslaughter or criminally negligent homicide stemming from Bell's death; and attempted murder, assault or reckless endangerment in the wounding of survivors Trent Benefield and Joseph Guzman.

Viatical Settlements {PPP}

We thought a short summary of viatical settlements might be useful as this is an obscure area of the insurance business.

In its simplest form, a viatical settlement is the purchase of a life insurance policy from another for a lump sum payment with the expectation that the money will be recovered upon the death of the insured. It is most typically used where the insured is terminally ill, and is designed to provide funds for the terminally ill insured prior to death with the purchaser getting the money back after death.

Viatical settlements (and related life settlements) are relatively new and developing. Care is required in considering a viatical settlement transaction, and it is important to pick your viatical firm carefully. Additional information is available to all at Life/Viatical Settlements

To break it down: Life/Viatical Settlements
takes the $100,000 pay out and discounts it the number of years of estimated life you have. The rate they use will be the prevailing interest rate on government bonds, plus an amount for the credit risk of the insurance company, plus an amount for their profit, plus an amount for the uncertainty of your life span. You get the net amount. The company becomes the owner and beneficiary of the life insurance policy on your life. When you die, they get their money and their profit.
If you are the one with medical bills, some insurance companies have started to offer Viatical Settlements directly without going through a third party. It is always worth talking to them to see .

Never before has so much fabric failed to cover so little of what we desperately don't want to see. Despite wrapping herself in a shower curtain from Bed, Bath and Beyond's brand new ''Jetson'' collection, Courtney Love can't stop the bowling balls bolted onto her chest from attempting to unleash themselves on an unsuspecting public. There aren't many heroes in this world, but the tacky metallic material that valiantly cleaves to the widow Cobain's permanently at-attention cleavage, thus saving us all from painful corneal scarring and brain bleaching, should be commended for making the ultimate sacrifice.

FDA investigates ‘embryo bank’ in Texas home

Federal officials are investigating a business that produces batches of ready-made embryos and lets prospective parents select one based on the donors’ looks, ethnicity, education and other factors.

A consumer safety officer from the Food and Drug Administration was at Jennalee Ryan’s house Friday during an Associated Press interview with the woman who runs the Abraham Center of Life. The officer would not comment.

An FDA spokeswoman in Dallas confirmed that the agency is investigating but would not elaborate. It was unclear what laws or regulations were the focus of the investigation.

Ryan’s service involves a New York physician who uses donated eggs and sperm to create embryos that can be bought for $5,000 a pair. Ryan said she allows customers to choose embryos after reviewing the donors’ characteristics, including their ethnic and educational background and, in some cases, their photos.

“Who wants an ugly, stupid kid?” she said.

At Ryan’s business, sperm donors must have doctorates; egg donors must be young, intelligent and attractive. The sperm comes from a sperm bank. Only one or two women so far have contributed eggs to Ryan’s project.

Business run out of private home:

Ryan, who runs the business out of her home in a well-to-do section San Antonio, said she sells already-made embryos, meaning clients cannot customize their choices by eye or hair color. Parents-to-be must choose from what Ryan has put together.

“Anybody off the street can walk into a clinic and do exactly what I’m doing. They can hire an egg donor, they can hire a sperm donor, and they can create embryos,” she said. “The problem is because I took the egg and the sperm and put them together. Now all of a sudden it’s Pandora’s box.”

Ryan said she started the center last summer but does not hope to profit from it and said she hasn’t so far.

“People say, ‘Well, is this ethical to do what you do? Is it moral to do what you do?”’ Ryan said. “Is it ethical or moral not to do it when I have the means and ability to do it? Knowing that I can, should I continue listening to women lament that can’t have children?”
